ANNO 117: PAX ROMANA
After the Town Crier's viral success, the announcement of the release date needed to match that energy.
At IGN Fan Fest, we delivered: an epic cinematic trailer that turned heads and got fans literally singing about the game.
To pull this off, we created a new workflow between in-game city building and in-game capturing, we then layered CGI statues and foreground elements over the gameplay. We even brought those CGI statues into the game as decorative ornaments for players.
Finally, the game was ready to be captured — no CGI, no live action. We created one of the most successful gameplay showcase trailers in Ubisoft history: a 6-minute video with over 917k organic views. We added title cards and YouTube chapters, making it easy for viewers, fans and players to jump to the specific gameplay moments they want to see.

BUILDING THE BRAND WORLD
To keep the spirit of build alive, we produced toy bricks with YouTooz, the largest Anno artbook with Dark Horse, a franchise cookbook with Panini, and two podcasts: an audio drama with SWR that hit #1 in German fiction podcasts, and a historical deep dive on the Pax Romana with History Hit. Building the brand world all before launch day.
